pastsanity: (Who's the man with the gold in a ditch?)

first ingot ♚ video/action

[In New Bark Town, if anyone is still around, you might find a somewhat frustrated man - tossed back into his Navy uniform for who knows what reason - prodding at his PokeGear, a Wingull perched on his shoulder as if it was the most natural place for it to be. Despite the fact that the man seems to have no idea what to do with the machine, the Wingull, on the other hand, seems to have been accepted with no problem whatsoever.]

... Aha. Is this how it works? Clever. It seems it's more than a simple telephone, Gen.

[The Wingull makes a squawk, at which point Kinzo offers the PokeGear up, allowing the Wingul to lean down and inspect the device. After a few very serious moments of contemplation, the Wingull resumes its place on Kinzo's shoulder, squawks again, then nods in agreement. Kinzo seems to accept this response, since he smirks and chuckles - tossing the PokeGear in the air and catching it, feeling more confident in it now.]

Quite an intelligent bird. I really will have to find out where I can get more like you for the family once I return to Odaware. You're already proving to be quite useful. Now then, shall we see just how useful this is?

[At this point, Kinzo flips on the [VIDEO] function of the PokeGear, greeting viewers with his devilishly handsome Battlerface along with that of his Wingull's curious, but patient, stare. Kinzo is silent for a few moments, looking over the PokeGear as if he's sizing it up, and after he's made a decision, he nods.]

Yes... Yes, it appears to be recording now. I'm not really familiar with this kind of technology, but here it is, exisiting in my hands, so I can't exactly refute its existence, can I? That is, assuming I've not gone mad after all.

In any case...

My name is Ushiromiya Kinzo, and I am the Head of the Ushiromiya Family. [a pause] If there is anyone out there who can give me any information regarding where I am now or, more importantly, how I can return to Odawara... [Kinzo chuckles, flashing the camera a grin]

I promise that you will be rewarded for it.

[And with that, with all the flare and dramatics that one would expect of Ushiromiya Kinzo, he snaps the PokeGear shut and off in a swift movement, ending the video feed. For those still in New Bark, however, Kinzo opens the PokeGear again a few moments later and lets out a relieved sigh.]

... Good. That wouldn't have been nearly as effective if it hadn't actually turned off.

[Gen squawks one last time in agreement, giving a nod, and Kinzo heads off to investigate the town while he awaits a response.]

[... and here he had thought he had successfully changed the subject]

He was a pretty funny guy! We got along pretty well. Mentioned that he was at some kind of family conference before coming here, but that was about it.

...

[Sorry, Kaito, but his and Battler's similarities start to end when you hit their looks.]

Surely, in all the time you knew him, that wasn't all you two spoke of.

[he is beginning to notice]

We talked about girls a lot. [THAT IS THE TRUTH]

[personal profile] bakaitoukid 2011-05-17 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
And he might've mentioned something about an epitaph.

[identity profile] pastsanity.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
[a nod, no more, no less.]

Continue.

[personal profile] bakaitoukid 2011-05-17 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
And about how the epitaph apparently lead to a bunch of gold or something.

That's about it. [nooot even getting into the witch stuff]

[identity profile] pastsanity.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
What did the epitaph say? Did he tell you?

[personal profile] bakaitoukid 2011-05-17 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
You were the one who wrote it.

How is me telling you now gonna affect that?

[identity profile] pastsanity.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
You have a point there.

You'd better tell me exactly what it said so your telling me that doesn't destroy its future entirely.

[personal profile] bakaitoukid 2011-05-18 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[snort]

And what if my telling you does destroy the future?

[identity profile] pastsanity.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It won't. It might change it, but I believe that there are an endless amount of possible futures out there. My being here in the first place has already likely destroyed whichever I was heading for, so now it's a matter of how far away from that one I go, isn't it?

[he grins] It can't be of that much harm, can it?

[personal profile] bakaitoukid 2011-05-19 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno if I wanna risk my chances.

[identity profile] pastsanity.livejournal.com 2011-05-19 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
You can't live if you don't take a risk every now and then.

... It's something I myself have only recently learned.

[personal profile] bakaitoukid 2011-05-19 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. Trust me, I learned that long time ago.

But I also know that some mysteries are meant to remain mysteries.

[identity profile] pastsanity.livejournal.com 2011-05-19 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
That's not entirely true. A mystery exists to be solved: otherwise it would be fantasy.

[personal profile] bakaitoukid 2011-05-19 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. And what's so bad about a mystery melding into fantasy?

[identity profile] pastsanity.livejournal.com 2011-05-19 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
It depends.
